TealBridge is a business consulting firm, not a law firm. We build and document the business; independent licensed professionals from our partner network handle the work that requires their license, such as the visa filing, legal advice and tax returns. You engage each professional directly under their own agreement, and we coordinate the timeline and documents so everything stays consistent.

What partner immigration attorneys do

An E-2 attorney owns the legal architecture and the filing. They confirm that your nationality and the ownership structure qualify, advise on whether to apply at a consulate or change status inside the United States, prepare the DS-160 and any DS-156E the post requires or the Form I-129 petition, write the legal brief, organize the exhibits the officer expects, prepare you for the interview, and respond to a 221(g) notice or a USCIS request for evidence. Later they handle renewals, dependents and green card strategy.

What attorneys generally do not do is choose your business, find an acquisition target, negotiate with a seller, form and operate the company, hire a manager, set up sales or write the market analysis. Many will refer you to a business plan writer. That gap is the business side, and it is what TealBridge does. For a fuller comparison, see E-2 lawyer vs consultant.

Who is in the network

The network covers the licensed work around a U.S. launch: immigration attorneys for investor visas, corporate attorneys for entity structure and purchase agreements, trademark attorneys for brand protection, CPAs for tax and payroll, business brokers for acquisitions and franchise consultants for franchise selection. Each professional works under their own license and their own engagement agreement with you. TealBridge coordinates the timeline and the documentation so you have one point of contact.

TealBridge is based in Dallas, and the businesses we have helped launch, more than 150 of them, are spread across more than 20 states. For clients who prefer counsel licensed in their own state or with a specific consulate track record, we introduce attorneys from the wider network.

Clients usually come to us first with a budget and an idea, sometimes with an attorney already engaged. Either way, the attorney reviews structure and files; we make sure there is a real, funded, operating business to file about. See our E-2 visa consulting services and the E-2 application process.

Questions to ask an immigration attorney

  1. How many E-2 cases have you filed in the last two years, and at which consulates?
  2. What happened in the cases that were refused?
  3. Will you review my business choice for marginality before I commit funds, or only file what I bring?
  4. Who writes the business plan, and have you worked with that writer before?
  5. What is included in the fee: interview preparation, 221(g) response, dependents, renewals?
  6. Who will actually work on my file and how fast do you respond?
