This fictional cleaning-service example shows how a business narrative connects to financial assumptions. It is not a redacted client plan, an approved case, a market forecast or a filing-ready document. The numbers are invented for teaching and are not an E-2 minimum-investment or approval benchmark.
The proposed company would sell recurring cleaning visits within a defined local service area. The owner would manage sales, scheduling, quality control and supplier relationships. A complete plan would identify the actual owners and their roles, premises arrangements, licensing needs, staffing capacity and the intended customers.
Instead of asserting that “demand is strong,” the writer would attach dated local research, competitor prices and any genuine customer contracts. The forecast would separate signed work from prospective sales. In this example there are no real customers, contracts or operating results.
Assume an average invoice of $150 and job-level labor and supplies of $60 per visit. Each completed visit contributes $90 toward fixed costs. Assume $10,400 in monthly overhead, excluding those job-level costs: office/admin payroll and payroll costs $6,000; premises/utilities $2,000; marketing $1,000; insurance $600; and software/admin $800.
The model would need evidence for prices, wages, visit duration, travel time, available staff and demand. It must not count the same labor cost twice or assume more visits than the team can deliver.
| Completed visits | Revenue | Job-level costs | Overhead | Illustrative remainder* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 120 | $18,000 | $7,200 | $10,400 | $400 |
| 160 | $24,000 | $9,600 | $10,400 | $4,000 |
| 200 | $30,000 | $12,000 | $10,400 | $7,600 |
*Revenue minus the stated job-level costs and overhead only. This is not net profit or cash flow: owner compensation, taxes, financing, capital spending, working-capital movements and launch-period losses are not included. Simple operating break-even under these invented assumptions is 116 visits per month. A complete model must also test cash timing and the costs omitted here.
Replace every assumption with your own evidence. Build a monthly launch-year model and a longer-term forecast, connect hiring dates to affordable payroll, and reconcile the investment schedule with actual payments and commitments. An acquisition should also reconcile the seller’s historical statements; a franchise should use the actual agreement and relevant disclosure documents.
For the immigration-evidence context and official sources, see E-2 business plan requirements and format. Your independent immigration attorney should review the filing requirements for your route and consular post.
Download an editable CSV planning worksheet with sections for ownership, market research, investment, operations, hiring and financial assumptions. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets and fill it locally. No email address is required. It is an input checklist, not a complete business plan or a substitute for professional review.

Request a redacted sampleA sample is useful only if it demonstrates how the document answers the questions an officer actually asks. Ours are built around consular expectations, source-of-funds narrative, hiring plan, market proof, and 5-year financials.
No two E-2 cases are alike. Every plan is written from your numbers, your market, and your immigration profile.
Downloadable template plans circulate widely, and consular officers see the same tables repeatedly. A plan that reads as generic invites scrutiny on exactly the points that decide the case: whether the investment is real, whether the business is marginal, and whether the projections are credible. We start from your documents instead.
Most plans are delivered in 10-15 business days, with expedited options available. Pricing starts at $2,500 and depends on industry complexity, whether an acquisition is involved, and how much financial reconstruction is required.

Yes. We prepare L-1 new-office plans, EB-2 NIW endeavor plans, EB-5 job-creation plans, and financial exhibits supporting your attorney's RFE response.
Usually 30-50 pages including financial exhibits. Length matters far less than whether every claim is supported.
Yes. We reconstruct historical financials and build projections from the actual operating record, which is generally a stronger case than a startup forecast.
